...I've helped hundreds of people over thousands of hours, to change their lives, overcome challenges, resolve traumas, and feel better about themselves. I work with anyone brave enough to ask for help, but specialise in men's mental health, relationship issues, divorce trauma, and anger management.
It’s no secret men don’t talk about their mental health easily. We bottle it up, push it down, put on the mask. The idea of talking to a stranger about feelings and stuff? Yeah whatever mate. I'm fine, we say.
But, you're not fine though, are you?
You might feel angry, confused, frustrated or lost. Maybe it’s affecting your relationship or family life, or your performance at work. Maybe you’ve been carrying stuff for years, or perhaps it’s something that’s happened recently. Whatever it is, I can help you.
And it's not just men's mental health - I have extensive experience of counselling a range of issues including anxiety, depression, anger management, trauma, bereavement, negative thoughts, low self-esteem, relationship problems, and many more.
No fluff, no gimmicks or cardigans. No crystals, power animals, or white balls of healing light. Just two human beings, talking, listening.
I work online, face to face, and outdoors in Bournemouth and Christchurch, and I offer both single session and long term therapy, with a variety of pricing options to suit your needs. Head over to my Services & Fees page to find out more, or check out my blog for more information on my approach to the type of issues that might have brought you here.
One last point - counselling and psychotherapy only works if you feel comfortable with your choice of therapist. If I don't sound like what you're looking for then check out Psychology Today or Counselling Directory to find details of other therapists out there that might be a better fit.
Otherwise, get in touch today and let's talk about how we can get you to a better place.
I am a fully qualified counsellor and therapist, a registered member of the National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society, accredited by the Professional Standards Authority, working across Bournemouth, Christchurch & Poole.
I've worked in and around mental health since 2006 within social care and the NHS, created and delivered an award winning Virtual Reality programme for people living with dementia, and have worked with brands such as LEGO, Playmobil and the RNLI to produce a variety of games and education tools.
My approach combines Humanistic Integrative with Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), which is just a fancy way of saying I draw upon several different theories and concepts to help explain thoughts, feelings and behaviours.
I'm not just there to nod at you or to say "and how does that make you feel?" all the time. I take a down to earth, relatable approach to the one thing we all have in common - being human.
I think what is most important for you to know is this - I became a therapist because I realised the only way the world makes sense to me is through an emotional lens. And through that, I could help other people make sense of their emotions, so they could understand themselves better and make informed choices about what is right for them.
If you want to see change in your life, and you choose to work with me, I promise to do my best to help you figure out what you need, and more importantly, how to get it.
