I am a fully qualified counsellor and therapist, a registered member of the National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society, accredited by the Professional Standards Authority, working across Bournemouth, Christchurch & Poole. My approach to counselling and therapy combines Humanistic Integrative with Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), which means I draw upon several different theories and concepts to help explain thoughts, feelings and behaviours. It's not about putting you in a box or using a one-size-fits-all approach. I'm committed to providing a consistently authentic therapeutic experience from the moment you get in touch to our very last session, and you can take that to the bank.
No cardigans, footprints in the the sand, wind chimes, or crystals - I try to do therapy without the fluff, so we can focus on getting you where you want to be. I'm not just there to nod or say "and how does that make you feel?" all the time. I take a down to earth, relatable approach to the one thing we all have in common - being human.
And being human isn't easy - we can all experience anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, relationship issues, and many more mental health problems in our lives. I believe counselling, therapy, and coaching, can help us deal with these issues, and as your Counsellor, your Therapist, or your Coach, I am committed to helping you navigate whatever you're dealing with in a way that works for you.
My approach to therapy is about combining understanding and compassion to build resilience and self-respect, to empower you to live the life you want and deserve, rather than the one that has brought you here. My goal is to make myself redundant as soon as is safely possible for you, not to keep you in therapy longer than you want or need.
But you should also know, I don't do tips, tricks, or sticking plaster solutions - this ain't Tik Tok or Instagram, so if you're looking for the shortcut or the quick fix, perhaps I'm not the therapist for you.
Why am I saying this? Well I've been doing this long enough to know, that there are some people who come to therapy who are ready to do the work, and some who aren't.
If you ARE ready, then you can bet I'm right here with you. If you're not ready, then you'll be wasting your time, and your money. That might sound blunt, harsh even, but it's the honest truth, and the honest truth is something you can always rely on me to use as the foundation for the work we do together.
My pricing structure is designed so that the MORE committed you are, the LESS money I make. I offer discounts on block bookings to make therapy affordable and accessible to people who are ready to stop living in fear, shame, and guilt.
